There are quite a few concerns in the world about how the environment is changing, causing alternative sources of energy to get more attention and consideration in the world. However, not all alternative sources are created equal, and some are doing better with getting a foothold than others. For example, where you can find solar panels in Erie, CO as well as an abundance of other locations, there are other forms of energy you may not have even heard of.
One type of alternative source of energy is wind. This is one of the faster growing sources of energy, and the concept is that the wind will cause the turbines to turn, creating the electricity. However, there are some drawbacks to this example. There may not be enough wind for it to really work, and there are concerns about how the structures may affect the surrounding environment.
Solar energy is the second type on our list, and it involves taking energy from the sun’s rays and converting it to electricity using solar panels from Erie, CO and other locations. This is a great source of energy because sunlight is almost infinite, and it is completely clean instead of needing to burn anything. Burning releases carbon and toxins, and is what causes the majority of air pollution.
Biomass is one type of energy that is not getting a lot of attention. It involves the use of plants as well as animal waste to make low-carbon energy. Although it is better than some of the forms of energy we currently have, it does still create a small amount of pollution, making it not as favored as some other types.
The next type of energy is geothermal. This is using heated water or steam to convert into electricity. However, this one has not gained a lot of headway because the plants are expensive to build and it may only work in certain locations.
The final type is hydroelectric, which works similar to wind but with water instead. Opponents are concerned about the impact on the land and wildlife, because hydroelectricity requires building dams, and flooding massive tracts of land and destroying acres and acres of habitat. These dams are also expensive to build.
Although there are many energy options that seem better than what we are currently using, many of these are still in development and there are some others that are not as widely available yet. However, you can easily find solar panels in Erie, CO or virtually anywhere else around the world, making this one of the better forms of clean energy. Look into how you can get started with your own system at your home and help become part of the solution to the environmental concerns.
